VitalSource Bookshelf Mobile App

VitalSource Bookshelf Mobile App offers offline access to e-books for different subjects from the Library collections.

 

Create your Bookshelf Account 

 

  1. For first time user, log in to iLearn to create and activate your VitalSource account. 

 

  1. Please be advised to use Sunway email address (xxxxxx@sunway.edu.my) for staff and iMail email address (xxxxxx@imail.sunway.edu.my) for students.

 

  1. Once you have completed the account registration, you will receive an email to validate your account.

 

 

App Installation

 

 

  1. Once installed, sign in with the registered email address and password.

 

  1. Once you are signed in, you will see all available titles on the Bookshelf app homepage. Tap the cover of the book which you would like to read and then tap Borrow.

 

  1. You will see the details and loan period of the book. Tap Borrow to start reading. 

 

 

To read a book on Bookshelf mobile app

 

 

  1. The book cover will be displayed, indicating that the book is now ready for you to read.
  2. On the cover page, tap the icon for:

 a. Table of contents – You will be able to see a list of chapters

 b. Search - Search a term in the entire of book content

 c. Scrubber bar – To navigate, move scrubber bar back and forth along the pages

 d. Bookmark – To bookmark selected page

  1. On the content page, you can use these functions:

a. To create highlight, tap and hold on a word, then drag till the end until you have selected all the text you want to highlight. Then, tap Highlight in the popup menu.
b. To add note, tap and hold on a word. Drag the end point to select the text that you want to highlight and then tap Note. 
c. Tap Workbook icon to access your notes, highlights and bookmarks.

 

 

To return book on Bookshelf mobile app

 

 

  1. Book will automatically be returned after the loan period ends.
  2. You can also choose to return the book by tapping Return.

Note: Your bookmark and highlight will still be available when you re-borrow the same book.
