Features of Flipster App

  1. Download popular magazines for reading
  2. Organise your magazines by title
  3. Browse magazines via Table of Contents and Page Thumbnails
  4. Track percentage of magazine read
  5. Read articles without images and advertisements in Text View

 

App Installation

  1. Once installed, click Find a Library. Search library name Sunway College Johor Bahru and click LOG IN.
  2. After logging in, you are taken to the Explore screen of Flipster, which will display the titles available from your library.

 

Searching for Magazines

  1. Tap the Search icon in the upper-right corner of the Explore screen.
  2. Tap the search field and enter your keywords, such as title, publisher or category.
  3. Tap the Download icon to download an issue to your device or tap the cover to learn more.


Browsing Magazines

  1. Browse from the All Magazines area displayed. Or tap Categories in the upper-left corner of the Explore screen to select a particular category of magazine to display.
  2. Tap the Information icon below the cover to learn more about a title, including a brief description as well as the available back issues. 
  3. Tap the Download icon for a title you would like to download.

 

My Shelf

  1. The My Shelf screen of Flipster displays the issues you have downloaded to your device.
  2. When a title is downloaded, it appears as NEW in your library. After you start reading, it shows the percentage of magazine that you have read.
  3. Tap the Trash Can icon to delete a magazine from Flipster.

 

Reading an Issue

  1. Swipe your finger left or right to flip through pages of the magazine.
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the upper right-hand corner to view the digital Table of Contents with links to each article.
  3. Tap My Shelf to return to your library of magazines in the app.

 

Using Text View

  1. When available, you can select Text View, which removes images from an article and displays only the text.
  2. When multiple articles appear on a page, you can select the text only version of a specific article from a drop-down menu.
  3. Tap Back icon to return to the page view of the magazine.
