What is library database?

Library databases are searchable. They are online resources that the Library subscribes to which contain high quality journal articles, magazine and newspaper articles. A database may cover a particular subject area or cover a range of subjects.

Some databases provide full text articles, but some only provide abstract or summaries for the article.
# An abstract is a summary of a research project. It includes the description of the research and its result.

How to select a database?

  1. Know what subject areas it covers, from a very general subject area to a very specific area.
  2. Ascertain the range of dates, types of publication and if it is also covers journal articles, newspaper and magazine articles.
  3. Lastly, look at the type of material format, whether it is a full text article or an abstract.
