Bibcitation

Bibcitation is a free bibliography add-on to generate instant and automatic citations for your assignments. Cite books, journal articles and websites in one click or choose from more than 20 source types and 9,000 formats including APA 7th referencing style.

Select a Citation Style

  1. Visit https://www.bibcitation.com​.
  2. Make sure you select APA 7 from the referencing style list.​

Add a Citation

  1. Select a source type every time you want to add a citation.​
  2. Click Show more to see more source types.

Add References Automatically

  1. Add a Reference for a Website

  1. Click  tab.
  2. Copy and paste a website address into the search box.
  3. Choose and click the auto-populated item.​
  4. Check the accuracy of the information and referencing format to ensure it follows the APA 7th referencing style format before clicking Done.​

  1. Add References via Chrome Extension - Bibcitation Bibliography & Citation Generator

The add-on extension allows you to generate a citation and bibliography with one click. When you are browsing a website, you can turn the website into a formatted citation automatically.​

  1. Click here to add Bibcitation Chrome extension
  2. Click Add to Chrome and Add extension.
  3. A message will inform you that the extension has been added to Chrome.​
  4. Navigate to the website you want to cite and click the extension icon to create a citation.​​
  5. Check the accuracy of the information and referencing format to ensure it follows the APA 7th referencing style format before clicking Copy or Add to Bibcitation.com.​

Add References via Export and Import

  1. Export and Import from the Library Website​

Access the library homepage at https://sunwayjb.libguides.com/

  1. Click the Search Sunway Libraries tab and enter the search term.
  2. Click Search and a list of results will be displayed.
  3. From the list, click icon and select Cite​.
  4. A new box will be displayed. Click Export citation and choose Export in RIS format​.
  5. The reference will be automatically downloaded as a .ris file.

  1. Open Bibcitation and click Import citations.
  2. Click Import RIS file and choose the downloaded .ris file.​
  3. The reference will be automatically added into Bibcitation.
  4. Check the accuracy of the information and referencing format to ensure it follows the APA 7th referencing style format before clicking Done.​

  1. Export and Import from Google Scholar

Access the Google Scholar homepage at https://scholar.google.com/​​

  1. Enter the search term.​
  2. Click Search and a list of results will be displayed.
  3. From the list, click Cite.​​
  4. A new box will be displayed. Click RefMan.​​​
  5. The reference will be automatically downloaded as a .ris file.​​​

  1. Open Bibcitation and click Import citations.​​​
  2. Click Import RIS file and choose the downloaded .ris file.​​​​
  3. The reference will be automatically added into Bibcitation.​​​​
  4. Check the accuracy of the information and referencing format to ensure it follows the APA 7th referencing style format before clicking Done.​

Copy a Reference or In-Text Citation to Your Document​

  1. Once your reference has been created, click Copy to copy the reference or In-text to copy an in-text citation from the options available for the specific record.​
  2. Alternatively, click Copy & export to copy all the references at once.​
  3. A message will inform you that the references have been copied.
  4. Paste them into your Microsoft Word document using Ctrl + V.​
