Library Workshops

The Library & Learning Commons also conducts Information Skills Workshops for students. These workshops are designed to equip the users with basic and advanced techniques for retrieving information from electronic databases and techniques for referencing purposes. Lecturers may also arrange for customised workshops for their students benefit.

Library Mini Workshops offer a variety of topics including information skills, research skills as well as IT skills. These 1-hour workshops aim to equip students with the essential contemporary skills to help them in their college studies. They will learn how to find, evaluate and use information more effectively and also learn to use the different Microsoft Office apps.

English Conversation Group Workshop (ECG) is organised by the Library to help students with their speaking skills. It is a 30-minutes workshop designed to help students with their speaking proficiency of the English Language. The Library organises these workshops for students to enable them to improve their speaking skills in their pronunciation, grammar and general speaking skills. The topics that are discussed during the session are common everyday life topics such as books, a childhood memory, a historical place, holiday, a practical skill, festival, food, household appliances, sports, family and many other common topics. During the session, students are given a topic that they would have to discuss with their friends and the facilitator.
